This Privacy Policy explains how VietEcho, operated by Echo Enterprise LLC, collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you visit https://vietecho.com, subscribe to our newsletter, leave a comment, use our AI-assisted guide, view embedded content, or make a donation.
Information we collect
We collect information you provide, such as your name and email address when you subscribe, and the information shown in the comment form when you leave a comment. Community subscribers receive newsletters and are not given website login accounts. Administrator and editorial accounts are managed separately.
We may also collect technical information including your IP address, browser user-agent string, device and browser information, referring pages, and interaction data for security, spam detection, site operation, and analytics.
Comments and Gravatar
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam-detection service. An anonymized string created from your email address may be provided to Gravatar to determine whether you use that service. After a comment is approved, the associated profile image may be visible publicly. See the Automattic privacy policy.
Newsletter and email
When you subscribe, we use your name and email address to send requested updates and notices about newly published content. You may unsubscribe using the link in an email. Email delivery may be handled by a third-party provider acting on our behalf.
Cookies
If you leave a comment, you may choose to save your name, email address, and website in cookies for convenience. Login and preference cookies are used for authorized administrators and editors. Embedded services may set their own cookies under their policies.
Media and embedded content
Images uploaded to the site should not contain embedded location data. Articles may include videos, images, or other content from third-party websites. Embedded content behaves as though you visited the provider directly and the provider may collect data or track interactions under its own policy.
AI, translation, payments, and service providers
VietEcho may use automated tools to help visitors navigate the site and to translate editorial content. We may use Amazon Web Services for hosting or translation, Stripe for donation payments, and other providers for email, security, analytics, or embedded media. These providers process information as needed to supply their services and under their own privacy terms. Do not enter confidential or sensitive information into the AI guide.
How we use and share information
We use information to operate and secure the site, publish and moderate comments, deliver newsletters, process donations, provide bilingual content, respond to requests, detect abuse, and improve VietEcho. We do not sell subscriber email addresses. We may disclose information when required by law, to protect rights and safety, or to service providers working for us.
Retention
Comments and their metadata may be retained indefinitely so follow-up comments can be recognized and moderated. Newsletter information is retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion, subject to records we must keep for security, legal, or administrative purposes.
Your choices and rights
You may ask for access to, correction of, export of, or deletion of personal information we hold about you. This does not include data we must retain for administrative, legal, fraud-prevention, or security purposes. You may also unsubscribe from promotional email at any time.
